Air Canada and Aeroplan

On the Air Canada website it says that if you want to have a complimentary snack and meal, you have to give the flight attendant your boarding pass. Why would they make you give your boarding pass away? I do have, or had some Aeroplan points. The only thing I can think of is is we have to have our boarding pass%26#39;s to collect the aeroplan points. Am I right?

Did any of you get your aeroplan points taken away?

If you have purchased a Latitude fare, you have to

SHOW your boarding pass for the complimentary snack/meal.

If you are booked on a cheaper fare, i.e. Tango, and if you have purchased the prepaid meal/snack voucher, you would have to SHOW your boarding pass as it would be coded on it.

I doubt you would have to give your boarding pass away as you should be keeping it to prove your flight in the event your Aeroplan miles aren%26#39;t credited to your account. Although is is easier to claim missing points electronically.

Make sure that you use your Aeroplan number, in some way, at least once a year to maintain you points. They do expire if you don%26#39;t add or use them once in a calendar year.

We just returned from Hawaii on Air Canada (Tango) and had to pay for our food. Did hear some people say they had vouchers so must have paid the higher fare. You even have to pay for a pillow now.

I noticed on the air canada web site if you purchase your ticket through them you can pay extra for a meal voucher (I think it was $6)

People; What does AC consider as a ';MEAL';? I haven%26#39;t used them in a couple of years but I know what Transat considers a meal %26amp; I%26#39;m afraid we%26#39;re not on the same page. We%26#39;re flying to Toronto in the middle of the nite but we go from TO to Nassau at 9:30 AM %26amp; arrive at 2:30 PM (approx) so we should get a ';MEAL'; or should we eat a big breakfast at Pearson? Bob!!!

We flew in the morning and evening and both times only were offered a sandwich which they charged $6.00 for.

Buy your food at the airport or pack something at home and dont bother with Air Canada%26#39;s ';meal';on this flight. I just flew to and from Maui from Vancouver two weeks ago. When I booked the flight in November, Air Canada said that a meal was included on this flight. But the flight attendants then informed us that Air Canada has stopped serving free meals on the flight, as of about three weeks ago, and everyone has to buy their food now. So because some people were expecting food, they offered us free ';meals'; to make up for it...The food was disgusting..Quiznos sub sandwiches (with a huge amount of fat and calories) as the ';meal'; and free snacks (chocolate bars, candy or potato chips).

Nothing remotely nutritious or healthy available....Buy yourself something to take with you on the plane and you%26#39;ll be much happier...
