We have only 4 days, we know we want to snorkel, not much on laying around a beach but grandson wants a pool with slide, so which hotel is best? which beach for snorkeling? I understand some are rocky, some are windy and rough. I read about black rock near Sheraton Hotel, sounds good. Any advice? Also, what do I want to see the most in 3 days?
Maui in Oct 08 Which hotels have best beaches to snorkelBlack Rock seems to be what you need but there is no water slide. Take a look at candid pictures. Go too the left of the page and click on Sheraton and then read reviews and look at pictures. From reading the reviews many of them never mention rooms or service or food just how great the beach is so that may be what you want. I am sure the rooms are fine but are out shined by the beach. The Westin has a slide and is walkable to the beach at Black rock.
Maui in Oct 08 Which hotels have best beaches to snorkelThe Grand Wailea has the best slides and is on Wailea Beach, next door is Ulua Beach which is excellent for snorkeling.
Your Grandson would love to see the crater (Haleakala.) I have a twelve year old and besides snorkeling and surfing those are his favorite activities. You could do a surfing lesson if he%26#39;s up for it. Our son learned when he was ten and loves it.
Both the Westin Maui and the Westin Villas have slides, Westin Maui a little more elaborate...snokeling in front of either is great.
At the villas you get a kitchen...with Grands could be important! Breakfast, snacks...Wind depends on time of year. Have stayed at both
While Black Rock is the place in Kaanapali to snorkel, there is not a lot of room there. The rest of the beach/ocean on that stretch has more surf than I prefer for snorkeling. The Wailea area has a better snorkeling and swimming beach. There are also more snorkeling beaches close by.
