I%26#39;ll be travelling to Hawaii in August with my 2 young children (4 yrs and 6yrs). I have reservations at the Embassy Suites but am now thinking of changing to the HIlton Hawaiian Vacaction Club because it would give me a full kitchen.
The HHVC is a little more expensive (about $30US more per night) and there is no breakfast which is included in the rate at the Embassy Suites.
Is it worth it to switch for nicer grounds and proximity to the beach at HHVC?
Does HHVC have a guest laundry? Also, there is a choice of the Lagoon tower (garden view) or Kalia tower (mountain view) for the same price. Which tower is newer? There is construction going on at HHVC. Is there construction noise worse near one of the towers? Any suggestions regarding which tower to choose would be much appreciated.
Embassy Suites or Hilton Hawaiian Vacation Club?
With kids I would pick HHV. More and better pools. Also with a kitchen you can easily do your own breakfasts for little money or hassle. I always try to have at least a frig in the room.
I have not stayed at either but by reputation I think of Embassy Suites as more aimed towards adults and couples.
Embassy Suites or Hilton Hawaiian Vacation Club?
In general I am not a big fan of the HHV and I am of the Embassy Suites, but given your circumstances the HHV is probably the better choice.
With kids in tow I would suggest the HHV and I would pick the Lagoon Tower over the Kalia tower even though the Kalia is a newer building. The reason for this is that the Lagoon Tower is steps from the beach but the Kalia tower is up by the main road. With kids I would want to be closer to the beach. I%26#39;m not sure where the new building construction is located but I wouldn%26#39;t worry about the noise unless your kids still nap during the day. It%26#39;s a great location with lots of pools, great beach and all in all a better choice for kids.
