I was wondering what the average nightly rate is at the Aqua Renew ( around Xmas-New years ). I would also like to know which is the best method to get the cheapest rates....online, direct. travel agent?
I know that there are some renovated rooms, and some that aren%26#39;t. Which rooms are the nice ones...Ocean / Diamond Head View?

You can check their rates for your specific travel time here:

All the rooms have been renovated.
I stayed at this hotel in September in the deluxe ocean view (pre-renovation) and the ocean view rooms would be the only ones in which I would open the curtains. The rest of the hotel faces an alley and other buildings. It%26#39;s telling that on their web site%26#39;s photo tour of a room with a balcony, there are no pictures of a view from the balcony!
At Aqua hotels, you can usually get the best rates from their web site. You can always check Orbitz.com or travelocity.com and compare for the time period you need.

It is trip advisor hotel site ...showing photos by visitors.
Note...
Only 8 of the 96 guest units have lanais (balconies).
They are on the end units overlooking Paoakalani Street, and its not like you can sit on them and enjoy the ocean view.
Only the top five are high enough to even really offer the small slice of panorama between the tall buildings as shown in the photos. And, as the lanais are oriented towards ewa/northwesterly , you have to walk to the extreme corner just to get that partial ocean view shot.
They are an all service, no amenity hotel. No pool, no restaurants, no parking, no shops, nada.
They do have a great reputation for personal service, though. They used to be considered a value-oriented hotel as well, but that seems to have disappeared with the recent upgrading and name change.
