I%26#39;ll be in Maui on my honeymoon in September! We%26#39;re going to stay at the Sheraton in Kaanapali, but to keep costs down a little we want to spend a few nights elsewhere. Are there any particular areas of the island where we would benefit from staying in? I had considered something close to Lahaina, but if there%26#39;s another particularly nice section I%26#39;m willing to research other options. Thanks!
What area to stay in?
if you posted a price range it would really help
What area to stay in?
We would like to spend less than $200 a night.
You could try a condo or hotel in South Kihei--go for one that is at the south end of Kihei across from Kamaole Beach II or III-- would be good (Kamaola Sands condo, etc., addresses in the 2300s, 2400s, 2500s that idea)--check out vrbo.com. You could then go into Wailea to the fancy hotels, the Marriott has a luau, etc. but pay $150 or less per night probably.
Since the Sheraton is in Kaanapali -- thisclose to Lahaina -- you might like to try a condo or B%26amp;B in Hana or South Maui for a change of scene. There are many places to choose from that run between $100 and $200 in September.
Thanks a lot for the insight!
The Sheraton is great! I would end your trip there since it will likely be the high point, but that%26#39;s just me. You might want to consier a studio at Hale Pau Hana in S. Kihei. The are oceanfront with a/c in the bedroom and are on a nice swimming beach. The price point is close to what you are thinking. Many of the condos do not have a/c. IMO, espeecially in Sept., a/c is NOT optional!
