Car rental - what size?

Hope this isn%26#39;t too silly a question - but what size car will I need to hire for 3 adults and one young teenager with 4 suitcases and a couple of rucksacks?

A US Full-size car looks enormous in pictures on websites but show capacity for only 2 large and 2 small cases. But then again we%26#39;re only carrying bags from the airport to the accommodation ......... Would a mid-size be big enough?

I would do the mid-size, if you are only using it a few times with the bags! You can carry one on your lap, right? I always think they are a little less than honest about size, so you always get a bigger one!

Definitely mid-size - it will accomodate your guests %26amp; luggage. As well, parking spaces on the island and in hotel parkades can be small so this size is much easier to park.

Will a mid size be too small for 3 adults %26amp; 2 teens w/5 (small) suitcases %26amp; 2 sets golf clubs? We usually rent full size but have heard parking spaces are tight. Thanks.

I think the answer depends on the make of the car ...

I really don%26#39;t think there%26#39;s any way to get five suitcases, carry-ons, and golf clubs into a mid-sized car, except maybe on your lap.

I%26#39;d go for a van or an SUV. We have five going next month, and we%26#39;re getting a minivan.

Just a point we found that it was difficult parking a Chevy Trailblazer in our condo parking lot because of the size of the lot and the spaces.

Not impossible just a pain.

We also found the parking lot spaces at some of the shopping areas for smaller vehicles too.

I was replying to lovestotravel, who specifically mentioned 5 bags and a mid-sized car. I was assuming most people on here were intelligent enough to make the connection.
