Which is the best spot to snorkel? What is the difference between one %26amp; the other? I wish to take a snorkel cruise, but don%26#39;t know which is the best spot?
Thank you!
Lanai or Molokini Snorkel
We took the one that heads to Lanai, it was fabulous. First we paused off a bay and swam in more shallow waters, saw lots of fish and sea turtles. Then they took us around the island and we put in at a rocky cove for lunch and everybody nosed around the tidepools and saw eels. Next we headed out into deeper water and there was a large rock (not big enough to be an island - but eeryone was a bit hesitant to go in. Wow - there was a reef there and the fish were abundant and gorgeous. They had to practically drag everyone back into the boat.
The biggest choice is whether you want to go where the crowd will be. I haven%26#39;t done the Molokini tour, lots of people do, but we loved the one we did.
Don%26#39;t think either could be bad, just whatever you prefer.
Lanai or Molokini Snorkel
This is a question that is asked very frequently on this forum. Just do a search and you will find multiple threads on this. Here is one:

BTW, I would go for Lana%26#39;i.
I have been on the Molokini tour twice. Once ten years ago and once this last Sept.--there was a huge difference in the amount of fish--alot less the most recent time. I have gone snorkling recently around lanai, not with boat cruise but just in the bay--and I think it is more pristine, more fish etc. then anything around Maui. So I would agree with other two people, Do Lanai.
LesRose, what company did you take the tour with?
Hi guys, I think we are going to stay at Kaanapali Royal condo. We are not driving, so what is the best transport to get to the harbor for the Molokini and Lanai cruises?
Thanks!!!:)
I can%26#39;t remember the name of the company we went snoekeling with - they were in Lahaina and did not use catamaran. Small group and just great.
As for your most recent question - you can actually catch a bus from Whalers Village into Lahaina - it stops at several spots in town including very near the docks. My brain can%26#39;t get a grip on your location - but most of Kaanapali is close.
