Just wondering if anyone has experience staying at the Royal Lahaina Resort or Kaapalani Beach Hotel. Is it honeymoon worthy? I need to keep the cost down, but am looking for a nice place for us to honeymoon rather than a family place. Looking for something at least 3 Star worthy.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!!
Experience with Royal Lahaina or Kaapalani Beach Hotel?
I asked the same question over a forum.
We have decided on Kaanapali Beach hotel, which won most people%26#39;s vote.
They were similar, but KB.Hotel was better value, great looking pool... and so far excellent customer service.
We%26#39;re going to stay there for 5 nights in June.
I think it should be honeymoon worthy. I%26#39;d definitely consider it if it was for my honeymoon.
Its also 3 - 4 star too.. can%26#39;t remember which.
Experience with Royal Lahaina or Kaapalani Beach Hotel?
Aloha - my husband %26amp; I went to Maui last May and seriously considered Royal Lahaina, but for us it just didn%26#39;t feel right. So I dug more and discovered Kaanapali Beach Hotel - now I consider them Ohana (family).
It%26#39;s not posh at all, but very relaxed and so comfortable. Highly convenient to Black Rock and great snorkeling, Lahaina, Whalers Village is a quick and easy walk, etc.
The staff there were incredibly nice, every single person there was gracious and welcoming - even the ones who were obviously having a %26#39;bad%26#39; day were friendly.
I did post a review - but frankly I can do better.
The grounds are lovely and open - nice pool, lots of chairs to lounge in and views that are still on my PC screen! We loved the nightly shows, even though we only %26#39;watched%26#39; two we enjoyed them nightly from our balcony. If you want to be left alone, its easy there. If you want to get acquainted with other guests it%26#39;s easy. If you are into nightlife the bar is open and laughter to be found, as well as the show.
Will we go back? Absolutely - until we stayed there I did not consider myself a Kaanapali type of person.
We saw weddings daily! We were there for our anniversary and yes, it is conducive to romance. It is also good for families.
When are you going?

I will say that you should consider/request the Maui or Lanai wings thoug, they have been renovated and are much nicer. Views are good from any floor. Molokai and Kauai wings are still not done over and leave a bit to be disired.
Rooms are clean, the grounds are meticulously cared for, and we truly hated to have to leave.
I forgot to add - while staying there we walked past the Sheraton and north over to Royal Lahaina, we walked all the way up to the new villas - it%26#39;s not nearly as convenient and sits back from the beach. The cottages at RL sit closer to the beach but appear dark. Not as private as you might think since the walkway runs through the cottages.
At KBH unless you are totally against breakfast, it%26#39;s a good value and we rarely ate lunch - if we did then our dinner was very small.
At KBH Some people thing it%26#39;s a bit of a time warp there, but frankly we thought it far more Hawaii and the Island of Maui thinks so too. It is repeatedly voted ';the most Hawaiian hotel'; for a reason. It%26#39;s very relaxing/
