This is our first time to Hawaii and my wife would be about 16 weeks into her pregnancy. This may sound silly, but would a taxis be more comfortable for her than a shuttle ride. Our hotel is about 10 miles from the airport.
Taxi or Shuttle for a pregnant wife
You are really sweet to consider your wife like that :)
As someone that has had 5 kids, she will probably still be at the comfortable stage at 16 weeks and not big and uncomfortable which is a good thing for your vacation :)
I would get a taxi to be honest, it%26#39;s so much easier and tbey take you straight to your hotel. The shuttle stops at many hotels and it could end up a long journey. Definitely go for the taxi.
Have a fun time and CONGRATS :)

Unless someone has to watch every dollar and a $50 taxi would mean skipping meals, I cannot see the merits of NOT taking a taxi. Cramming into a van, crawling into the back seats, wasting time riding around dropping other people off....when you could be walking on the beach...come on!
I always take a taxi (after trying the shuttle bus on earlier trips). It%26#39;s only about $28-32 from the airport into the typical Waikiki hotels. It is not only more comfortable it%26#39;s a LOT quicker (because the bus stops dropping people off along the way).
FYI-found a website www.caborcar.com when we were debating whether or not to rent a car for 1 day in Honolulu or taxi it from the airport to hotel and then to Pearl Harbor and Bishop%26#39;s Museum. The site provided taxi cost from airport to hotel area and also add in taxi fare to other major sites. It also noted the hotel parking fee. The site said our taxi fare would end of being $140. We decided to rent a car (priceline $20/day-$37 w/tax) and figured even with the Marriott parking fee of $20, we would come out ahead and have the convenience of the car.
If you really want her comfortable why not use ABClimo.com...:)
Thanks for everyone%26#39;s input. I was debating with a friend over this issue but now my wife and I have decided to go taxi. Hawaii here we come!!!!!!
