It%26#39;s a little long sorry but I wanted to see what you thought and see if you%26#39;d suggest anything. I got a little crazy with 20 million things to do. I have one teenager and an 8yr old. Both are very energetic plus athletes. So, I think we%26#39;ll be ok. It might be mom (me) who may change plans. Anything I missed let me know. I know PCC is probably better BUT i went to Paradise Cove and I really want my children to see it as well. So, I%26#39;m keeping that luau.
Route day 1
(Wednesday)
Arrive in Honolulu @ 2:06p. Pickup Rental Car at Airport.
Get to the hotel, check in and get settled in. Go to either Costco or Wal-mart to buy snacks and food for the beach.
Visit Waikiki Beach and or strip
Route day 2
(Thursday)
Circle island tour.
Route day 3
(Friday) Pearl Harbor %26amp; USS Arizona Memorials- Early Morning
Arizona Memorial: (free) get there early, preferably by 8am. Opens at 7:30am. If you get there after 10am the lines can get long and you may spend 1-2 hours in line. Battleship USS Missouri and Submarine USS Bowfin are in the same area. These are about $15 each so you can go or skip them. Look for coupons in brochures for two for one. You can take pictures of them from Arizona Visitors Center and the Arizona tour ferry. Go on the lawn behind the Visitor%26#39;s Center (Circle of Remembrance) for great pictures. You can also walk around the Bowfin Memorial area for free without taking the tour. Its worth the time.
The Swap Meet is only a couple blocks from here at Aloha Stadium.
Night--Luau-Paradise Cove (3-10p)
Route day 4
(Saturday
Hiking)
AM-Diamond Head Climb: Drive right into the crater and hike to the top. ($5 per carload or $1 each if you walk into the crater). I prefer to drive in. Awesome 360 degree view from the summit. Best time is around 8am or around 4pm. In between it can get hot walking to the top. Takes about 1 - 1 1/2 hours roundtrip.
Rest of the Day:
Ala Moana Beach Park: (free) Nice beach. Great sunset location in the winter. Walk all the way out to the end of Magic Island. Great view of Waikiki, Diamond Head, Ala Wai Boat Harbor (shown in opening scene of Gilligan%26#39;s Island).
Hike to Manoa Falls: $5 for parking at Treetops. One mile one way. Short hike through a rain forest. Also small bamboo forest there. Treetops restaurant there (at the previous Paradise Park site) has a good Chinese buffet. Lyon Arboretum is nearby. It is a nice botanical garden. You can park there and walk a short distance to Manoa Falls trail.
Hike to Makapuu Point Lighthouse: (free) Great view from here. Easy one mile hike. In winter months (mid-November to mid-April) it%26#39;s great for whale watching
Route day 5
(Sunday) Hanauma Bay: Snorkel. Its for any age. You can rent snorkeling equipment there or some places in Waikiki or bring your own. Closed on Tuesdays. Try to get there as early as possible. If you drive, the parking lot gets filled up by 9:00 or 10:00. ($1 for parking, $5 for each person). You can reserve snorkel tours with several companies. They provide equipment, transportation, etc. They seem to have better equipment than the park does. …honolulu.hi.us/parks/…welcome.htm
ALL DAY AT HANAUMA BAY
NIGHT-OPEN
Route day 6
(Monday) Sunset sail on the na hoku, cheap, easy to get to, fun, wonderful views, meet a lot of fun people, not your typical hawaii canned tour, all u can drink for $30.
The Na Hoku II is tied up on the beach, next to the lifegard%26#39;s station, in between the Sheraton Moana Surfrider Hotel and Duke%26#39;s Barefoot Bar. Those two establishments are along Kalakaua Avenue in between Kaiulani Avenue and Dukes Lane. The Sheraton is across the street from the International Marketplace. Most people walk through the Sheraton. Some people walk through the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center to get to the beach. Look for the big yellow boat and listen for the conch shell. Sitting on the beach, playing in the water, relaxing at Dukes barefoot bar, or at Sheraton%26#39;s bar are all great places to wait for the boat.

Route day 7

Waikiki Aquarium-
Visit other beaches during the day and go see everything we didn’t have a chance too.
My 7 day Itinerary--What do you think?
hey,
That sounds ok, but you may wish to add the PCC to your plans. I didn%26#39;t see it in there.
Also, a whole day at Hanauma Bay would be too much for the average person. If you LOVE snorkelling and want to do a ton, it may be ok, but most people would find a full day too long.
You could actually rent a car, spend a few hours in the morning at Hanauma Bay (before the crowds), and then drive to the PCC for the rest of the day.
My 7 day Itinerary--What do you think?
When you get back make sure to let us know what you decided to do on day #1 - Waikiki Beach or strip ?
Interesting options ?

since your going to diamond head on saturday morning i would suggest stopping by the farmers market at kapiolani community college you will go right by it.the times are 7:30-11:00,we went there in oct it was great got some great kona coffee directly from a farmer from the big island. the lavendar farm from mauai was there, lots ot food booths and bale bakery has a big booth with lots of things we got some focaccia bread and lemon squares. maybe you would find this interesting i love farmers market and whereever we travel i try to visit them.
aloha marie
Days 3 is a Friday - I%26#39;m not sure if the Aloha Stadium Flea Market takes place on a Friday. I think it is only Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. You may want to double check this. If so, then you can trade with one of the other days.
Day 5: As already mentioned all day at Hanauma Bay is too much. Plan on arriving there early then leave about lunch time and go grab some lunch. After lunch you may want to visit the beautiful Kailua Beach or if you are interested in history then I recommend the Iolani Palace.
Also, You definitely need a North Shore trip in your itinerary. Don’t miss out on the beautiful North Shore. You can stop at a shrimp truck, visit some of the beautiful beaches there and visit the Dole Plantation.
None of our trips to Hawaii is complete without a day at PCC.
thank you so much everyone and I%26#39;ll take your advice with me.
Budweiser: Love that name!! so would my hubby. By the strip I mean walk up and down the shops and just sight see. I%26#39;m use to Vegas so I%26#39;ve come up with my own name for my own corrupted mind.
I know Hanauma bay is way too much and we%26#39;ve rented a car and will probably leave when the boys get tired or us.. Which gave me an idea to add North Shore that day. Thanks! I knew you all had some good ideas!
Maybe less driving and more time in the water
Surfing lessons and an outrigger canoe ride should be a top priority.
