My b/f and I went to Maui Oct 07 and stayed 5 wonderful nights at the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villa%26#39;s on the $750 promo deal.
We recently became owners and get to reserve the Westin Kaanaplia Ocean Resort Villas NORTH one year in advance. We decided to spend next valentines day (week) in Maui so decided Feb 8th to the 15th.
Yesterday put that date exactly 12 months away and I submitted our request for those dates!
I%26#39;m SOoooo excited to being planning our ';return'; trip and this time with family.
We have a 2 bd lockoff unit in the new North building and we are taking our 2 five year old sons (who%26#39;ll be 6 then) and also both my mom and my b/f%26#39;s mom will be joining us! I can%26#39;t wait to share the Maui experience with the kids and our mom%26#39;s. Since we got to see most the island on our last trip this on will probably mostly be spent at the resort and just enjoying the beach teaching the kids to snorkel.
Can anyone tell me what Feb is like in Maui, weather, crowds and such? I%26#39;ve been twice, once in early Dec 06 and then early Oct 07. Both times the island was very quiet and enjoyable with little to no crowds and GREAT weather compared to the frosty temps of the Pacific Northwest at this time of year.
Also, what is good for 6 year olds to keep them busy and having fun?
thanks
Return Trip Feb 2009
Feb is whale seasons so thats a plus but it is also rainy season. The 6 years old will be fine in the pool at the Westin! You can also type in activities with kids on the Maui forums and many previous posts will come up.
Return Trip Feb 2009
Different vibe in Febuary-smaller crowds-nice weather but a little less warm than in july.
I%26#39;m in in july of this year
love the villas
We just returened from the Westin Resort %26amp; Spa-it was rather windy, had several sunny-part-sunny days-and one rainy day-I would take that anytime over 45 below zero-wind chill.Have fun,
Excluding the summer months, February is the busiest time on Maui. All due to the whales!! You will find larger crowds than you did in early Dec. and Oct. It is also the rainy season, so plan for that. You will have great luck teaching your sons to snorkel up at Kapalua Bay. Much better than Kaanapali. Take them to the Maui Ocean Center. There they can learn the names of the fish they see snorkeling!! Make sure both grandma%26#39;s have some time to see Maui outside of Kaanapali!! We have had some cooler weather lately. Plan on temps being in the 75-80 degrees.
