Reef Dancer?

We are going to Maui in August with children. Ages 13, 7 and 3. The Reef Dancer looks pretty neat to do with the kids. Was wondering if it%26#39;s worth the money or not. My kids really want to do it. Thanks.

Reef Dancer?

Aloha!

We arrive on 7/29. We have kids ages 6,6,10,15. We are doing the reef Dancer, too. I think it will be fun...others have told us that it is well worth the price!

Reef Dancer?

Did you ever end up going on the Reef Dancer? Was it worth the money? We will have a 2 and 4 year old. I think the 4 year old can do the ';real'; submarine ride but not the 2yo. Maybe we%26#39;ll take them on separate trips for special parent time, maybe a whole family together on the Reef Dancer if it%26#39;s cool. Would love to hear.

My friend and her 4 year old daughter went on the Reef Dancer in October and told me it was the biggest waste of money and to avoid it at all costs. She said that they hardly saw any sea life and that someone from the crew brought a sea urchin up to the window for the kids to see- ';1 sea urchin, that%26#39;s it, and I felt clostraphobic, I wish I could have used the money we wasted on this on a nice dinner overlooking the ocean'; were her words. I think snorkeling would be best experience to see Maui sea life or the Ocean center if you don%26#39;t want to get wet. Aloha!

Aloha!

We went in early August.

My boys(ages 6 and 6 at the time) and my two girls(ages 10 and 15) went. We had a good time. We saw lots of fish, turtles, etc. maybe it was a better day than the last poster. We thought it was worth the $.

Can you snorkel with little kids?

An alternative if you do not snorkel and feels claustrophobic is to visit Maui Ocean Center. I think kids would love MOC.

We took our kids on the Reef Dancer and the kids really loved it. I think it%26#39;s one of those things that is either ';hit or miss'; as far as seeing marine life. We were able to see an octupus, which was really neat. My 3 year old son was more interested in the scuba divers. He thought that was awesome. I enjoyed it, but it was a pretty short trip. Overall, I would do it once, but probably wouldn%26#39;t do it again. My kids would do it again though. They really enjoyed it, especially my 3 year old and 8 year old.

We enjoyed the Maui Ocean Center. Been there 2 times. Was disspointed when we were there in August. They were still under construction with some of the exhibits, so we were not able to see some of them. I also think the prices are ridiculous. It%26#39;s such a small Aquarium for what they charge to get in. We spent more going to the MOC then we did the Reef Dancer. However, the kids again loved it. Not sure if we would go again though. 2 times for me was plenty enough.

Aloha

We went on the reef dancer in the summer of 2000. BORING. Your kids may like it but we were very bored and felt like we wasted our money (quite a lot of money).

Spend the money on a big boat to Molokini. We went with a 2 year old and everyone had fun. They had boogie boards for the kids to ride on and life preservers for them too. We went on the Four Winds II and had a blast.

I agree that this is a waste of money. Maybe okay for young kids, but BORING for adults. The ';naturalist'; on board was a 12 year old kid. You%26#39;ve got to be kidding, right? Nothing very interesting to see here. And that boat rocks - so if you get motion sick - BEWARE.
