Dusty has posted in the past 2 differant driving tours of Oahu. Has anyone done either of these driving tours with a rental car??? How long did it take you to drive these, restuarants not to miss on the way, interesting points to stop at, any information from people that have driven around the island would be great. My husband and I have 2 days set aside to drive the island and don%26#39;t want to miss anything.
Driving Tours
Each tour will take 3-5 hours depending on the number of stops %26amp; the length of stops.
If you combine them, you will save about an hour, but it will make for a long day.

Dusty%26#39;s estimate is accurate.
Check the website www.discoveringhawaii.com. The book on Oahu is excellent and will help you see what you are going to see. Can order or sometimes find in a book store.
Definitely a two-day trip if you do it right.
Too many interesting points to recite. Recommend you look at the book and use your judgement. You%26#39;ll do fine.
Lunch stops...I really like Kua Aina hamburger place in Haleiwa. Also the beach side cafe at Turtle Bay Resort is a welcome stop.
Dinner stops...You want to be in Haleiwa for a sunset. Haleiwa Joe%26#39;s gets high marks. I like Jamison%26#39;s, but others think HJ is much better.
I also highly recommend the book and website Driving and Discovering Hawaii: Oahu by Richard Sullivan. Oahu is my favorite island because of this book. In his book he lists every stop worth seeing along the way with good maps to get you there. There is a new edition coming out in March 2008. I consider it an essential read if you are going to Oahu. The 2 drives described will take you two days. You%26#39;re going to have a great trip.
