just for fun -i checked out aa from pdx to maui and return for your dates and i got 894.00 pp round trip with absolutely horrible and i mean horrible connections --

i have confirmed tix for apr for 2 r/t on hawaiian

for 868.00 total and for nov for 768.00 r/t for 2 total

so if your price is for a r/t tix and not one way its a great price -- you couldnt live closer to maui then i do unless you live in calif or washington

I did. I traveled with my wife and infant twins in January. I could not have been more thrilled. American was amazing. From check in until we arrived, the service was great. We flew coach and the seats of course are not huge, but still, the kindness of the staff more than made up for it.

In contrast to United, which I have had the unfortunate experience to fly recently, American acts like they genuinely want people to fly their airline.

We%26#39;ve been with AA through thick and thin, and now through not-quite-so-thin.

Weather cancelled our trip out, but AA called to inform us 15 hours in advance. They couldn%26#39;t get us replacement first class seats until two days later, but they did DO it. When we boarded, the attendant asked, and someone agreed to switch seats so DH and I could sit together. The food was actually tasty and the wine OK, and we had REAL silverware (a first since 9/11). Best of all...the hot fudge sundaes have returned!!! The flight was an hour late leaving, but we made up most of the time.

We splurge with our AAdvantage miles every year on this 9-hours-out, 8-hours-back trip.

We still miss the direct ORD/OGG flights. Nine hours is enough. Then you add the hour-plus in Honolulu and 30 mins. on to Maui. It gets to be a long travel day.

seriously, where are you located? im in ny, and the flights are like $800 to over $1000.

We always fly AA to Maui. Never ever had an issue. We fly direct from Los Angeles.

I%26#39;ll be in Maui May 13 thru 25 also, I%26#39;m hoping the weather is good and not alot of kids, did you pick a place to stay at yet? I know I%26#39;m starting to get excited but not looking forward to flying, I%26#39;m leaving out of Philly.
