Day 2, we wake up to the sun rising over the ocean. Wow! We are also very hungry, so off to Eggberts in the Marketplace for breakfast. It hit the spot. Then we were off for our Blue Hawaiian helicopter tour of the island. I still can%26#39;t believe I did it! I am the most scared person I know about not having my feet planted firmly on the ground, but I wanted to do this so badly I just decided life is too short, so away we went!
I had purchased the ReliefBand ahead of time hoping I wouldn%26#39;t get sick because I didn%26#39;t want to take the less drowsy Bonine since it makes me very drowsy. It%26#39;s an electronic thing that costs a lot of money, and I had it going full blast the whole time. I don%26#39;t know if it worked or not because towards the end of the hour I was starting to feel not so good. If I didn%26#39;t have it on, maybe I would have gotten sick, I%26#39;ll never know.
anyway, the heli tour was WELL worth the cost and the fear and everything, because once we took off it was just magical. I think everyone was spellbound. It%26#39;s the sort of thing that will stay with you for life. We also bought the video of our trip for $25.
feeling a little queasy, we went back and laid by the pool for a little while, then headed up north to see the sights. I wanted to see the Lighthouse, but by the time we got there (4:05) it was closed. So do get there before 4 if you want to go in. We did have a great view from the lookout though and got some beautiful pics. then we drove up along the road through Hanalei and drove and drove. The road gets a little hairy in spots and I would imagine maybe hard to pass in very rainy weather without a 4WD. Didn%26#39;t make it all the way to Ke%26#39;e Beach though but saw lots of great sights anyway. Do stop at the lookout of the taro fields. It%26#39;s a real-life postcard!
On the drive down through, we stopped in Hanalei for shave ice. Now, I%26#39;ve been to Hawaii three times and never had one, never saw one. So I read somewhere the best shave ice is at Wishing Well in Hanalei, so we searched for the truck. Alas, that too was closed! (more on shave ice later).
then we drove through Princeville. Wow! Who lives there? I%26#39;ve got to play the lottery! Anyhow, we ended up at the Hanalei Bay Resort at the Happy Talk Lounge. We got a great table, great view. We got there before sunset, and it was just gorgeous. As the sun went down over the mountain, it was like I was living a dream. I will never forget that. Oh yeah, we also enjoyed the food and drink there. and they had a great little three-piece band who played Hawaiian songs, and then a hula dancer came on with them and performed. It was a wonderful way to end a wonderful day. Drove back and hit the sack.
Day 3...

Sounds like a fantastic day!
