I simply love visiting Hawaii and want my daughter in law and granddaughter to have a ball! We think that we want the Four Seasons and have a reservation, but now two friends want to join us and I don%26#39;t know where we should go to accommodate 4 adults and 1 child (12 y/o). I want Wailea and Spa? 4S won%26#39;t allow that occupancy. Any advice would be appreciated so much!
Wailea, Summer 2008 Condo versus Hotel
You should check out the Wailea Beach Villa condos. WBV is on the same beach as the FS. The place is really upscale with all the amenities of a full service resort - front desk, concierge, beach service, pool service, room service, daily maid service, etc. I think a 2 bedroom unit with a den or a 3 bedroom unit would be ideal for your group. Try booking with Destination Resorts Hawaii at waileabeachvillas.com or through an owner on VRBO.com. We really love WBV.
Wailea, Summer 2008 Condo versus Hotel
If you want to stay at the FS tell your friends they are welcome to join you, but they will have to pay for their own room. Sounds reasonable to me.
We were booked into the 4seasons but changed and stayed in the Wailea Beach Villas, absolutely first class, staff is unbelievable and accomodation was over 1900 square feet, two sub zero, huge lanai. Pools are great etc. etc.
Thank you so much for your input! Do you think that the price difference is worth it? I would be willing to pay for the accommodations for these great friends. Especially to make the trip nice for them. They add so much to everything! They are fine for the airfare, but may not be able to contribute to the room...and I DID rather invite them...Thanks so much for your thoughts... Did you see the Diamond Resort and Spa located on the hill above the Wailea area? I was wondering about it?
I would not go to the Diamond resort because it is not on the beach. If you find that the villas are too expensive, you could also try the Kea Lani or Polo Beach Club for options They are both beachfront on the strip with the 4S.
Wailea Beach Villas really are sensational. The complex is new so all the units are new as well - I don%26#39;t think you or your friends will be disappointed. Check with owners on VRBO - you should be able to negotiate a fair price (defintely less than renting two ocean view rooms at the 4S). Most owners have an availability calendar and a guest book posted on VRBO.com.
Beachfront in Wailea (besides the excellent WBV): Wailea Ekahi and Elua, Polo Beach Club, Makena Surf. All condos are individually owned, so you want to look for specific units via vrbo.com to know exactly what you%26#39;re getting. WBV is new, but most everything else is not, so condition is important.
