Luai on Lanai

We will be spending 5 days on Maui and 5 days on Lanai. Is there a recommended luai on Lanai that would allow us to try something different than the ones on Maui?

Sorry no luau%26#39;s on Lana%26#39;i, and that is one of the nice things about the island. Eating buffet style food in a noisy environment and sitting with a bunch of strangers at a big table is not my idea of fun. If you are doing a luau on Maui, IMO you will not feel a need to do another one.

Now they do have luau grounds at Manele Bay which is used for private parties for big groups. So if you will be part of a big group they may have a party there.

This is not to say there is nothing nice to do in the evening on the island, just a little more mellow than on other islands. Eating a nice meal out is my favorite evening activity. Also, there is live music in the Hale Ahe Ahe Bar at Manele Bay and the Lodge at Koele lobby every night (fairly mellow); and at the Lana%26#39;i City Grill in the Hotel Lana%26#39;i, they have live music on weekends (and occasionally other times which is more lively).

As Dr. V said, there are no luaus in Lana%26#39;i. For entertainment, I%26#39;d recommend the Hale Ahe Ahe lounge. We went here for at least an hour or two each night just to hear the live music. We liked it so much that we even ate there one night! There is also live music in the lobby area near the Terrace restaurant at the Lodge. We found this to be very enjoyable as well, especially during our meal at the Terrace.

I also spent 3 days in Maui on my trip. Being that this was my first trip to Hawaii, we felt that it was necessary to attend a luau. We went to the Drums of the Pacific at the Hyatt Regency. The show was great, but the food was marginal.
