good activity for teen boys

Hello all,

We are going to Maui next May and I thought my son and DIL would love to go to the Old Lahaina Luau, My grandsons would not like the food at all and since we are on a budget what fun thing could we do with the boys while their parents are at the luau. Also I thought this would be a special night out for my Son and DIL. I also don%26#39;t want the boys to feel left out.

Thanks

If you wanted to have dinner in Lahiana while your son and DIL are at the luau, you could eat at Hard Rock, Bubba Gumps, or BJ%26#39;s Pizza (there is also Cheesburger in Paradise, but I wouldn%26#39;t recommend it) and then you could all meet up afterward for an ice cream or shaved ice and walk around Lahiana....

How old are the boys? Young teen or older teen? My boys (at the time they were 16 and 14) loved Cheeseburgers in Paradise - it was all about the giant burger and how it filled them up. I could take it or leave it, but their drinks were really good.

Hello thanks for the replies. the boys will be 16 and 14. I just don%26#39;t think for the money they would like the luau and I know they won%26#39;t like the food I just want to do something special for them. They love hamburgers Bubba Gumps sounds like fun too. I could ask them what they%26#39;d like, are there any other activities we could do with them before dinner? Thanks

My boys loved the shopping along Front Street in Lahaina. (I know shopping and boys don%26#39;t really go together!) They have a lot of the trendy shops along there that I%26#39;m sure they would love and they are open til late.

Just an idea here...since I hate eating in chain places on Maui...Kimo%26#39;s has awesome food (yes burgers and AMAZING Hula pie) with spectacular views.

Cheaper is Aloha Plate lunch..also great views..but Hawaiian food!

There is a shop just across and north on Front street that specilizes in shark%26#39;s teeth! Necklaces, key chains etc, my guys LOVE this place! Also a great scrimshaw store down the way. Some very different galleries including the ';Rock and Roll'; place that always starts great discusions with teens!

Oops...isn%26#39;t Old Lahaina Luau up Whaler%26#39;s village way! Just reread the post...if so you are not in Lahaina at all! If so you can cruise Whaler%26#39;s village, several ';rockin%26#39;'; board stores for the boys... the Rusty Harpoon is a fun ';sports bar'; (kids are allowed) with big screen sports AND a view of the ocean! Really fun servers and good food.

Which ever, make reservations for that night!

';You listened to THAT!'; HA

I second the idea of eating at one of the fun restaurants in Lahaina and then going shopping.

OLL is just at the north end of Lahaina%26#39;s Front Street, just in back of the Cannery Mall.

There isn%26#39;t much right near the OLL but head further south and the action starts somewhere near Hard Rock Cafe. We like to park near Front and Prison in the free lot and then walk north, through the park with the Banyon tree.

I am in the same boat and wonder if anyone would recommend zip lining? Thanks!

Now thats an interesting activity, zip lining, the boys would love that. Does anyone know anything about that. We could take them zip lining then out to dinner.

Zip lines are a good idea. You might consider surfing lessons, too.

Cheeseburger in Paradise is a hit with teens. The atmosphere is fun, and the live music is upbeat and loud, so it%26#39;s right up their alley. The night we went it was one of the few places with a wait out the door. Luckily they move people through fairly quickly, so the wait isn%26#39;t too bad.
