I am planning a vacation in Hawaii, unfortunately my one option is the month of august. I haven%26#39;t decided yet which island to visit.
Some friends have already given me valuable tips on a Big-Island Forum. Any must-know information I have to know about Kauai in this period... I hope I can stay in Hawaii for about 10 days in the second half of august: I am not afraid of hot climate... but I try to avoid the crowd... as far as it is possible in august!
Thanks to everybody.

August in Kauai
Kauai is extraordinary year-round, BUT in particular don%26#39;t miss staying on the North Shore of Kauai during the Summer.Having owned on Kauai for 20 years, and visited 70 times including all islands, I would suggest the Big Island, due to its awesome amount of lava rock, can at times be uncomfortably warm in the Summer compared to Kauai. The North Shore of Kauai is compatible with your desire to avoid crowds - one beautiful world-class beach after another, with very few you must share the sand with.
August in Kauai
Aloha - August is an excellent time to visit Kauai . . . and easy to avoid crowds. check out more of Kauai at www.kauaidiscovery.com. My favorite area is the Northshore - best to visit during the summer season. :)
If you give us some more detail on what kinds of things you like to do and what you%26#39;re looking for in a vacation, the people on the forum can probably give you some more specific recommendations.
That begin said, I can%26#39;t think of any place I%26#39;d rather be in August than on the north shore of Kauai, for the same reasons the other posters have mentioned.
Many thanks to everybody!
I will get back asap with more specific questions as suggested...
Kauai really looks the right place to relax, even in august!
