Steak house suggestion?

When we go, I will be looking for 1 good steak night. Any suggestions for a great steak?

Steak house suggestion?

If you are in the Poipu area, we like going to Roy%26#39;s.

My husband always gets his steak there, as we eat fish most of the week. It%26#39;s really excellent.

Reservations needed.

Steak house suggestion?

I%26#39;ve got a 2 lb porterhouse in the fridge ready for the grill tmw! aged 45 days, never frozen. Bistecca Fiorentina here we come.

But I%26#39;m very curious to see the recommendations here. Most of the steak here is an afterthought on either a fish or Asian fusion based menu.

If you want some great prime rib, you can get a slice to go from Windward market. While they have some tables it%26#39;s not a restaurant. Taste puts the Bull Shed to shame.

The only time I had a ';great'; steak in Kauai, was a trip to the Beachhouse, and even that was tres expensive and not up to the class of a Morton%26#39;s or Ruth Chris. (Also, Jean-Marie still owned the place too.)

I have had excellent steaks at Gaylords at Kilohana Plantation. They also have a great blacked Prime Rib.

CJ%26#39;s Steak House in Princeville Center, again not a bad Prime Rib and decent steaks.

Again, I very rarely eat steaks on the island, prefer the fresh fish.

Duke%26#39;s at the Marriott usually has pretty good steaks and the prime rib is very good.

Couple of years ago we liked Halaheo Steak House but haven%26#39;t been there lately.

Forget the Bull Shed.

Call me cheap, but I like the steak (and price) at the Wailua Marina Restaurant.

Thanks to all who replied... I will give it a bit more thought. I may just stop by Costco and pick up a 4-pak of Filet Mignon. Cheap and pretty darn good fresh off the condo barbque.

I am learning to adjust. Up %26#39;til now we have been going to Maui. Restaurants by the score, many high quality. Looks like Kauai is more about the Island than the restaurants. That%26#39;s fine by me...

Oh why in the world would anyone want to eat beef when you%26#39;re in Hawaii? The fish is amazing. Ah well, anyway, there always does seem to be beef on the menu at most restaurants, and I would venture to guess that it%26#39;s pretty darn good at Roy%26#39;s, and the Beach Houese. The Kalaheo steak house is supposed to be excellent, but I have never tried it. I would not venture to Wranglers in Wiamea, we went once for lunch and found it to be just barely OK. Costco does have some pretty lovely beef, so if you just have to, I%26#39;d go there and grill it at your condo.

Kintaro, believe it or not. My opinion seconds the suggestion made elsewhere that it%26#39;s the best steak on the island.

Aloha from Kaua%26#39;i!

One of the oldest steakhouses on the island is the Kalaheo Steakhouse on Papalina Road -- it is very popular and very low-key.

Also Wrangler%26#39;s Restaurant in Waimea is known for their steaks.
