Random Questions

Okay, I have a few random questions...

1) I have a beach shelter that I use at the coast here in the summer (like a 3 sided tent), it is pretty compact. Would it be worth it to pack along to use on the beach?

2) I have pretty bad pollen allergies. How bad are they in Maui at the end of April/beginning of June? Should I make sure to bring a family size package of benadryl with me?

3) Thinking of doing the Old Lahaina Luau one night during our stay. What is the parking like?

4) I ran across something about a lavender farm. Has anyone been there and do you know anything about it, or have I looked at so much Hawaii stuff and this is on a completely different island?

Sorry, I told you they were random questions, but thought it would be easier to put in one post.

Mahalo in advance!

Random Questions

1) Probably not worth carrying the extra weight. Most beaches won%26#39;t be all that windy.

2) I have pollen allergies, too. I%26#39;ve never had much trouble when in HI. Bring your benadryl anyway. I always carry some just in case I get into serious trouble with something.

3) Parking was no problem at OLL, but we were there pretty early. I suspect that if their lot is full you can part just across the street at the Cannery Mall.

BOOK EARLY! They fill up fast.

4) Sorry, I have no details on this one, but I know there are people here who have been there.

Random Questions

about question 4) you might be thinking of the alii kula lavender farm.they have 60 min. tours, and i think 20.00 per person, the wife loved it,i%26#39;d of rather gone snorkeling.....

1--- i personally wouldnt bring something like that but its just me

2- bring the benadryl or buy it there --it cant hurt to be safe

3--no clue

4-- if you have #2 why would you want to go to a lavender farm

1) Actually I was only thinking of bringing it to have some place to get shelter from the sun, but it sounds like I probably shouldn%26#39;t bother with it.

4) Yes, I have the hay fever, but, my grandmother absolutely loves lavender (to the point of obsession), so I was thinking it might be nice to bring her back some sort of souvenier from there, or at least a few pictures. I take her to the lavender fest in Hood River every year, so I thought she would get a kick out of seeing pictures of one in Hawaii.

I am just trying to also think of some really different things to do other than the normal tourist stuff, and that seemed kinda different to me.

4) If you are getting a souvenir for another person, why not save yourself the trouble (#2) and go to a shop specializing in Maui-made products. I%26#39;m sure the lavendar farm must sell some items locally. Other places to look - farmers markets %26amp; craft fairs.

You can order stuffs from Alii Lavendar without going on a tour. They have shop onsite and they have website. www.aliikulalavendar.com

My mom loves the tea.

well...i have a lot of allergies, too. i mean, a LOT of them!

but i wouldn%26#39;t let them stop me from seeing a lavendar farm if i wanted to. and IMHO...buying a gift personally from the place itself is much nicer than doing it online. plus you would get to experience the beauty of the place.

i am personally allergic to trees, grass, dogs, dust, books, and a lot of other things.

i live with all of the above every day. so i sneeze! big deal....there%26#39;s always claritin in addition to the shots i get from my allergist.

i only worry about the severe food allergy to cucumbers...what am i gonna do, live in a bubble? i go where i want, do what i want, sleep with my dogs. and sneeze LOL
