Hi, I%26#39;m finding some good deals on car rentals but here is my dilemma. I can get a car (full size Charger) from Thrifty for $148 for a week - p/u at HNL when we land, drop off a week later in Waikiki. We are staying two weeks. Advantage now has a deal for $100 for an Intermediate Sebring (holds as much luggage as the Charger per the website), but we%26#39;d have to drop off at the airport. So that would mean an extra trip back from the airport midway through our trip. Is there a cheap way to get back - what about the bus? How long would it take? My husband would be doing it, just wondering if it%26#39;s worth $48 for the convenience. If it weren%26#39;t for the parking costs ($11/day), we%26#39;d get one for the whole two weeks for $195. Here%26#39;s another thought - we are staying at the Waikiki Sunset...is there cheaper parking nearby than the hotel offers? Maybe a weekly rate?
TIA,
Mel
Trying to decide about a car rental..waikiki drop off vs HNL
You should be able to park at Waikiki Banyan right across the street for $8 a day.
Bus to airport will take about an hour.

#19 %26amp; #20 are direct (no transfer needed).
If you go to drop off the car at the airport, you can stop at Chinatown/Aloha Tower area by bus on the way back.
If I was only staying a week or less, I might think about wasting a couple of hours to take a car back. But, with 2 weeks go for it.

hi
the banyan also has weekly parking i think its about 40.00 a week.just alittle heads up i thought the spaces we%26#39;re kinda small but i think that is a problem with all parking garages.

Thanks, good to know - we have friends staying there when we%26#39;re there too. Good to know we can use that since it%26#39;s cheaper. Every little bit helps!
